MY ADVENTURES

“What a beautiful day I spent yesterday with what I like the most, animals, nature and my daughter.

Ada and I left home at around 8 in the morning to enter our neighboring country, Euskadi.

There we had a nice experience, we arrived a little late but the adventure had not yet started, our friend pastor was still explaining the location in which we were, at the foot of the Amboto and within the Urkiola Natural Park.

A farm sheltered by mountains and beautiful forests gave shelter to an instance where curd, yogurt and the delicious Idiazabal cheese were made.

We leave prepared to be able to elaborate in our own houses thanks to the explanations and practices of an expert craftswoman, but of course …. We would lack the most precious raw material … our sheep, and they are not any sheep … they are Latxa sheep, race of Euskadi, Navarra and part of Cantabria.

Once learned all the preparation of cheese, curd and yogurt and of course, put into practice, we go to the stables.

They do not wait for the great protagonists, without ignoring the importance of several Scottish shepherd dogs and some ocas both eager to keep the value of the place.

Once inside the stables the show begins, the children who had already enjoyed making curds … now they are euphoric, they are giving the bottle to the little lambs!

While I hear in the background the explanations of our pastor that takes us from doubts about everything in terms of their livestock and customs of the area … I only see loving eyes that follow me and I let myself be enveloped by animal love, my daughter succumbed and ended up in the straw floor rendered to the love of these precious animals.

After this unforgettable moment they teach us to milk them, the children reflect the absolute happiness and those who are not so children too.

All this in a beautiful setting, on the farm our shepherds’ restaurants are given to the guests for their common enjoyment, the visitors take out the food brought from home and after eating it they savor the dessert prepared by themselves at the beginning of the day, set da, cheese … The children play with the shepherd dogs, the cat … and they watch the geese fascinated, they do not lack anything, the trees hang swings …

A nice activity to enjoy with the family “.
